Community Involvement

Theo helps organize and run annual charity golf, and softball tournaments in memory of his late friend Kenny Dusnmore who passed away in 2010.  Each year, the Dunsmore family selects two deserving scholarship recepients who demonstrates hard work, both on the practice field and in the classroom.  To date, Theo has helped raise over $100,000 for the Scholarship Trust Fund, awarded six college scholarships and donated to numerous charitable organizations across the country.

Theo is a Board Member for Urban Alliance Baltimore.  His role with UA is to create job partnerships with organizations in the community and mentor the students throughout the year. 

Theo, who adopted his pit bull Champ in 2006 is an advocate for the breed.  He volunteers at B.A.R.C.S., a city run animal shelter in Baltimore, MD, which is inundanted with homeless pit bulls.  In addition, Theo has fostered and placed multiple pit bulls to good homes throughout the state of Maryland.

Theo is an active supported of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  He helps to raise money and bring awareness by participating in the Light The Night Walk.  The Light The Night Walk is the L&L Society's annual fundraising walk to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer.

Since 2013 Theo has helped raise funds and awareness for Kidney disease by particpiating in "Rappel for Kidney Health" which requires partipcants raise $1,000 and then rapel from of a 30 story building in downtown baltimore.

Theo is an active supporter of the March of Dimes walk in Baltimore and in 2015 took a group of his clients on this walk. Together they raised over $3000 to help the March of Dimes fund lifesaving research and programs that help moms here in Baltimore have healthy babies.

Theo has been a board member of Urban Alliance since 2012.  Urban Alliance empowers under-resourced youth in Baltimore to aspire, work, and succeed through paid internships, formal training, and mentorship.

Theo and his mother Ann had a kennel named after them at Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, Inc. (BARCS) honoring the charitable work they have done to help homeless animals in the Baltimore area.
